Past Club nights

Monday 12th February: Thanks to Doug Coleman at Venture Performance who gave a very informative talk on biomechanics - bike fitting and perfect pedaling - see here for his slides and see Member Offers page for a 10% discount!

Monday 19th December: Thanks to Ray Pitchforth and Clive Pritchard for their informative talk on camera choice & how to file footage with the police as evidence of illegal activity. See the slides from the evening here and here. A question was raised about the safety of attaching cameras to helmets. The following links may be of interest - the BBC research was done on climbing helmets but the testing protocols included those of cycling helmets. It was prompted by the Schumacher skiing injury. These have persuaded Ray that the risk of sustaining serious injury is greater from being hit by a motorist than the risk of sustaining injury as a result of using a helmet mounted camera.

And more recent 2021 research by the NSW Govt into the safety of attachments to motor cycle helmets concluded that on the whole it was safe: here
