23-Feb-15: What Bike Club Night: Monday 23rd February at Townsend saw a presentation from Willier Performance Progress Labs (suppliers of the Watt Bike). During the evening Pete (Willier PPL) and Maxine (Mule bar Pro MTB and road racer) discussed the importance of training and riding at threshold and how riding with your body rather than against it increases your average speed. The evening included the opportunity to hop on the Watt Bike to complete a two minute tester - establishing your average watt output as well as displaying your power output both left and right. Stan blew everyone away with an average of over 500 (which meant Andy Flint won the sweepstakes!) and Kate demonstrated that less testosterone meant rather than blowing up she calmly increased her output to a peak in the final 30 seconds (very cool)!
