CYCLOSPORTIVES

Organised and supported rides usually with awards for finishing times run by cycle clubs and cycling organisations in the UK and throughout Europe. Great fun - an opportunity to challenge yourself, but also to enjoy riding great routes with other riders. Whatever you do you will have good company, fabulous scenery and days to remember. Since 2008 VCC has had a good representation at a number of events through the season, with the White Horse Challenge a regular favourite in April, and of course our own Chiltern 100 sportive in June. A number of riders have been first timers, who were then enthusiastic to enter more events. The club Newsletter has carried reports from a number of events. Distance options from 40 to over 100 miles, with lots of choices in terms of difficulty/terrain.

In 2013 club members will again be entering a number of events, and co-ordinating transport etc. Popular for this year will be:

White Horse Challenge - 21/4 (full)

Etape Dales - 19/5 (full)

Chiltern 100 (our own event) - 2/6
